Right-handed pitching prospect Michael Bowden has been promoted to Pawtucket after posting a 9-4 record with a 2.33 ERA at Double-A Portland in 19 starts this season. He struck out 101 batters in 104 1/3 IP while walking only 24, a great K/BB ratio.
It’s a little unusual for the Red Sox to be this aggressive with a 21-year old prospect, but the Paw Sox have a serious shot at the International League crown, and the brass want to find out if Bowden could possibly help the Sox this season.
Also moving up to Pawtucket: Jeff Corsaletti
