Buchholz, Bowden shut down

The seasons of Clay Buchholz and Michael Bowden have come to a close. The front office has decided not to call them up, effectively ending their seasons. Sox fans will have to wait until next season to see these promising young arms pitch at Fenway again. Buchholz finishes with 134 2/3 IP total, and Bowden pitched 149 1/3 IP total. This was kind of a lost year for Buchholz, thanks to the DL stint and the failed arm slot experiment. Bowden was excellent this year, and improved his stock a lot; I’d expect to see him on the Pawtucket Express a few times next season.
Bartolo Colon looks like he might finally be ready to pitch, and is currently penciled in as a starter on Saturday against the Blue Jays.
