Timlin cruises, Colon hits the DL

Mike Timlin threw an inning scoreless at Pawtucket tonight, throwing 12 of 18 pitches for strikes. Hopefully we can get him back in the pen in another week or so.

Bartolo Colon suffered a setback today, as he was placed on the minor league DL because of “soreness” in his right oblique. Those hoping for a curtain call at Fenway will have to wait at least two weeks now. Guess his body wasn’t quite ready to throw 96 mph yet.

Brandon Moss is off to a fast start at Pawtucket as their new first baseman. I’m sure he’ll ride the minor league options shuttle more than once this season, a la Kevin Youkilis.
