Snyder clears waivers, heads to Pawtucket

Pitcher Kyle Snyder has cleared waivers today, and has accepted an assignment to Triple-A affiliate Pawtucket. Snyder had a pretty decent 2007 until August, but struggled all Spring and into the season, showing poor command of his stuff. Snyder, who is a former 1st round pick, has four pitches and good size (he’s listed at 6-8, 220 lbs); at 31 years old, he can still provide bullpen depth, though he figures to decline from here.
